Had the cellar cleared a couple of days ago. A large man and his boy came by, sent by the freeholders (freeloaders more like) and cleared all the junk that people had chucked down there over the years. I went down to inspect. Earth for the floor and wooden doors partitioning the space off - I do not know why. This is the space under my flat, and it's a strange space. One of those spaces which could be the setting for a mystery.
Just getting it cleared feels like a bit of progress in the return to taking control over MY house . . .
I saw a great roadsign the other day, which some irate resident has modified. I will photograph it and put it here.
