The railways are in a mess, and private companies historically cut costs to up their profits. Social provision like transport and Health should be socially provided through taxes, nationalisation. As the Rail companies shaft both passengers and staff, how is anyone going to stand up and put a stop to what 's going on? Passengers/commuters aren't organised, railworkers are! Supporting their strikes means standing up to the appalling mess the railways have become. If you're a railworker, the luxury of resigning and going elsewhere just isn't a reality . . . any more than asking a commuter to get another train.
